Looking for Gigs
Nov 17, 2010 News
Hi all,
We’ve been having a great time gigging lately and we’re eager to carry on bringing more music to London.
Over the next few weeks we’ll be trying to get as many gigs as possible in and around London. In the new year we’ll be working on new music and gigging frequently.
So come along for the ride and follow us here, on Facebook.com/mortonstoe and myspace.com/mortonstoe and Twitter.com/mortonstoeband
We’d love to interact more with you guys, so give us all the feedback you can and we’ll try and make the gigs and music even better.

Many thanks to Elton MacManus of http://bombastpodcast.podbean.com/ fame who suggested us to the host.
We’ll have to get in the studio proper to get a proper recording to the host for next time.
Thanks,

Well Morton’s Toe have been working hard in the studio to perfect some song arrangements and feelings and get them just right so they fit in your ears all perfect like.
We’re very nearly gig ready now so keep your eyes out for full band gig dates coming as soon as we can book ‘em Danno!

Thank You
Jul 6, 2010 News
Thanks to everyone who came down to The Phoenix on Sunday and supported me, and to all those who listened intently to my songs. I hope at least a few of you managed to make it here to our webpage or to the Facebook page.
I had a great time playing to you all and finally managing a bit of between song banter
Me and the band will be getting back in the rehearsal studio in the not too distant future and I’ll hopefully be playing an another open mic night in August. I’m going to try and keep doing them regularly.

Mike Dixson playing a solo gig on 4th July
Jun 19, 2010 Gigs, Music, News
Hi all,
After the success of the gig I played at the Phoenix bar last month Mike will be playing another solo spot there on Sunday 4th July.
The Phoenix in Cavendish Square http://www.phoenixcavendishsquare.co.uk/ is a very short walk from Oxford Circus and is well served by tube and buses alike.
It’d great to get the place packed out with as many friendly faces as possible.
Also I’m working on a new song which I’d love to get your feedback on.
I’ll be on stage around 8:30 or so.
Mike

Mike’s Broken Leg Progress
Apr 23, 2010 News
Hi all,
I’m now able to put 50% weight on his leg and so is able to hobble around much further a field without feeling like he’s got there on a rowing machine.
Hopefully by the end of May I should be able to start getting back to rehearsal and Morton’s Toe will be able to get out gigging and entertaining again.
I also plan to do some solo acoustic shows, just me and the guitar, and maybe my harmonica if I’m feeling particularly folky!
All our gigs will be posted on our gigs page and we’ll be sure to shout about them on Facebook and Twitter too.
Look forward to seeing you all soon,
Mike
Morton’s Toe Demo MP3s
Hi all
I’ve put up some mp3′s of some rough demos of our songs. Whilst I’m still laid up with my broken leg I’m working on some ideas for new stuff but in the meantime there are some of our tunes up on our Music page
I’m also looking at different ways of writing songs, gathering inspiration and looking at working on some songs with a different style.
Love to you all,
Mike
Mike’s recovery
Apr 2, 2010 News
Hi all,
I just a quick update, I’m about half way thru my recovery period and working hard on my physio exercises to get the motion back in my leg.
Meanwhile I’ve been brushing up on my music theory a bit and playing around with some tunes. I’ve also been listening to BBC 6 Music and getting into a few songs from that:
- Darwin Deez – Radar Detector
- Yeasayer – O.N.E.
- and a host of other great tunes.
All in all it’s all a good healthy build up of influences on Morton’s Toe’s music.
Anyways, I’m off to do my physio exercises.
Love to your mothers,
Mike
Sod’s Law
Mar 10, 2010 Life, Music, News
Well sod’s law kicked in. I was finally getting round to updating then site, practising solo and with the band and then I go and break my leg!
I’m laid up for a fair while which may bring about some new songs if I’m lucky. At the moment I’m just trying to work out how to get from one place to another carrying stuff like drinks and food.
Bottled drinks and cold and packaged food seems the way at the moment.
